Our office is located in Gosia Tola, right behind where the old Vishambar Cinema used to be in Allahabad. It is a familiar landmark for anyone who has lived in this part of the city for a while. The area is usually pretty crowded with people coming and going. We have been operating out of this building for some time now. It is a bit of a maze to get back here, but once you are inside, it is just a regular workplace. We have desks piled with blueprints and ledgers, and there is usually a pot of tea going somewhere in the back. The staff here are mostly local people who understand how things work in this town. We do not have any big signs or bright lights. Most people find us by word of mouth or because they know the cinema hall. The space is a bit cramped when the whole crew is in at once, especially during the planning stages of a new job. We deal with all sorts of project details from this desk. It is nothing fancy, just some sturdy chairs and a few computers that have seen better days. We like it that way because it keeps us focused on the actual construction tasks. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It is just how things go here. We are not trying to impress anyone; we are just here to get the work finished.
