Our shop is at Plot No. 151/153 in the Bhabha Building. If you’ve ever been to Lohar Chawl, you know exactly what the vibe is like. It’s crowded, loud, and full of people looking for electrical stuff. We fit right in there. Our space is packed with boxes of switches and different gadgets for the house. It’s not the easiest place to walk through because we have so much stock piled up, but we know where every single item is kept. Sometimes it feels like the building has been here forever, and it has that old Bombay character. We are on the ground floor, which is good because we don’t have to carry heavy boxes up any stairs. People are constantly popping their heads in to ask about a specific part or just to see what’s new. We don’t really do much in the way of decoration. The walls are covered in shelves from floor to ceiling. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we usually have a couple of fans going all the time. We know all the neighbors around here and sometimes we share a meal or a tea in the afternoon when things slow down a little bit. It’s just a busy, honest shop in a busy part of the city. We show up, open the shutters, and spend the day sorting through parts and talking to customers who know what they need.
