G Amphray Laboratories

We spend most of our days up here on the 4th floor of Sambava Chambers on Sir P. M. Road. It’s a busy spot and the traffic outside never really stops making noise, but you get used to it after a few years. Most of us have been working in these rooms for a long time now. The lab desks are usually covered in glass bottles and papers, and sometimes the smell of chemicals gets a bit strong in the hallways. We don’t have much fancy stuff in the lobby, just a few chairs and a pile of old magazines that nobody reads. People come in and out all day with samples or deliveries. The elevator can be a bit slow in the mornings so some of us take the stairs, which is quite a climb to the fourth floor. It’s not the quietest place to work but it’s where we get things done. We keep our lab coats on the hooks by the door and usually have our lunch at our desks while checking results. Sir P. M. Road is always crowded, so getting here in the morning is a bit of a struggle sometimes. We’ve got a small fridge for milk and snacks in the back corner. The windows don’t open very far, but you can see the tops of the other buildings if you stand in the right spot. It’s just a normal lab where everyone knows each other’s names and how they take their tea.
