You’ll find us over at 1701-02-Ruby in the Nirmal Lifestyle complex. We are right behind Shoppers Stop and across from L.B.S. Marg in Mulund West. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai 400080. Being up on the 17th floor means we don’t hear the honking as much, which is nice for getting work done. Freight Systems India Ltd isn't some giant faceless entity. It’s just a group of us sitting at desks and managing freight schedules. The office is usually a bit of a mess with papers and coffee mugs. We spend a lot of time on the phone with the ports or checking on container status. It’s not the most glamorous way to spend a day, but it’s what we do. The Mumbai humidity can be something else, so we are thankful for the building’s air conditioning. Sometimes the elevators take forever, so we end up chatting with people from the other offices. We don’t have any big mission statements or anything. We just try to make sure the freight gets where it needs to go on time. It’s a lot of logistics and detail work. We usually have the radio on in the background to keep things from being too quiet. If you come by, it’s just us working through the daily pile of manifests and emails. It’s a steady rhythm that we have gotten used to over the years.
