Getting to the third floor of Anand Bhavan can be a bit of a workout if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. We are at No. 310, right on Princess Street. If you’ve ever walked down Babu Genu Road, you know how crowded it gets. It’s a constant stream of people and carts and motorbikes. Fortune has been tucked away in this building for a while. It’s a small space, but we make it work. The windows look out over the street, and there’s always something to watch if you take a second to breathe. The noise from the market below drifts up all day. It’s the sound of the city, I guess. We have piles of papers and folders everywhere. It’s not the most organized-looking place, but we know where everything is. Our neighbors in the building are mostly other small businesses, so there’s a lot of nodding to each other in the hallways. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. Princess Street is a historic part of the area, and it feels like it. The walls here are thick, and the ceilings are high. We don't do much in the way of marketing or big advertisements. People usually find us because they know the building or someone told them where we were. It’s just how things work here. It’s been this way for years and we don’t see any reason to change it.
