Balaji Infra Projects Ltd.

Our office for Balaji Infra Projects Ltd. is on the 6th floor of the New Excelsior Building. That’s over on A.K. Nayak Marg. Being in an older building in Mumbai has its charm, though the elevators can be a bit slow when you're in a hurry. We spend our days looking over blueprints and talking to contractors on the phone. It’s a lot of coordination for different construction projects. We have desks covered in rolls of paper and plenty of half-empty tea cups. It isn't like the movies where everything is glass and steel; it’s a working office where we deal with permits, supplies, and site reports. We go out to the sites quite often to see how things are actually progressing on the ground. Mumbai traffic usually makes those trips take longer than they should. We don't have a big corporate vibe here. Most of us have known each other for a long time, so the atmosphere is pretty casual. We just try to make sure the projects stay on track and the materials show up when they are supposed to. It’s a lot of logistical headaches and phone calls, but that’s just the nature of infrastructure work. We aren't trying to be flashy, we’re just trying to get the buildings and roads done correctly. You can usually hear the street noise from the window, but we don't mind it much.
