Our place is at Plot No. 40E on Keshavrao Khadye Marg, which is right near Jacob Circle. Being in the heart of Mumbai means it's always loud and there’s always something happening right outside the gate. We work with pumps and fluid systems, so the workshop is often a bit wet and smells like industrial oil. It’s a practical environment. We don’t have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some old calendars and charts we need for work. The guys here have been doing this for a long time, so they can usually tell what’s wrong with a pump just by listening to the sound it makes. We get a lot of rain during the monsoon, and sometimes we have to move things around to keep them dry, but we never stop working. It’s a small group of us and we don't have any big corporate layers. If someone calls, they usually talk to the same person every time. We just try to get the repairs done and the orders shipped out without making a big deal of it. Some days we are very busy and the floor is covered in parts, and other days we have time to clean the tools and organize the shelves. It’s just the daily rhythm of life at Jacob Circle. We’ve been here for years and we don't plan on going anywhere else.
