About Fishfa Glass Centre – Building & Construction Material in MUMBAI
We are located at 57 Bapu Khote Street, right in the middle of a very crowded part of town. Our shop is full of glass, so we have to be really careful when we move around. There are large sheets of glass leaning against the walls and smaller pieces stacked up on the workbenches. It is a bit of a maze sometimes. We spend the day cutting glass to size or fixing frames for people who bring them in from their homes. The sound of the glass cutter is something you hear all day long. We do not have a lot of space for customers to sit, so they usually just stand near the counter while we finish the work. Bapu Khote Street is quite narrow, and getting deliveries in can be a real headache with all the carts and people in the way. We have a few old tools that have been with us since we started, and they still work better than most of the new ones. It is a dusty environment because of the polishing, so we are always wiping things down with old cloths. Most of our regulars are local builders or people from the nearby houses who accidentally broke a window. We do not use any fancy computer systems; we just write things down in a big ledger. It is an honest living, and we have been doing it this way for many years. Sometimes we have a backlog.
