We have been set up here at 74/ Ii C Cross Road for a long time now. Being in the MIDC part of Andheri East means it is always noisy and crowded outside with trucks and people rushing around, but inside our doors at Firmenich Aromatics (India) Pvt. Ltd., it is a different world. We deal with all kinds of scents and flavor ingredients, so the air usually smells like something interesting, maybe citrus one day or something floral the next. It’s not a fancy office by any means, just a practical place where we get the work done. The desks are a bit cluttered with samples and paperwork, and the chai man comes by twice a day which is the highlight for most of us. We don't really do big meetings with fancy slides; we just talk over the partitions and figure things out as they come up. Finding us can be a bit tricky because the cross roads in MIDC all start looking the same after a while, but once you see the sign for 74/ Ii C, you know you are in the right spot. It’s a busy life here in Mumbai, and we are just another part of the fabric of this industrial area, trying to keep up with orders and making sure the smells we produce are exactly what they are supposed to be. Most of the staff have been here for years, so it feels more like a small community than a big corporate entity.
