FCG Flameproof Control Gears Pvt.Ltd. is based in the Shah & Nahar Industrial Estate, right on S.J Marg in Lower Parel West. If you’ve been to this part of Mumbai, you know it’s always crowded and moving. Our unit is in one of those big industrial buildings where you can hear the hum of machinery from every floor. We’ve got a decent-sized space, but it’s packed with components and heavy metal casings. It gets quite warm in here during the afternoon shift, so we keep the big industrial fans running constantly. The walls are painted a pale blue that’s peeling a bit in the corners. We don’t have a fancy showroom; if someone wants to see what we do, they just walk onto the floor where the guys are working. We’ve been here for years, and the security guards at the gate know us all by name. There’s a lot of heavy lifting involved in our daily routine, and you’ll often find us wearing work boots and dusty clothes. We have a small cabin for the manager, but he’s usually out on the floor with everyone else. It’s a busy, noisy, and productive place. We get our tea from the stall right outside the main gate. It’s not a place for suits and ties. We’re here to do the work, and the environment reflects that practical, no-nonsense attitude we all have. It’s just us doing what we know how to do every single day.
