Fazlehusein Asgarali & Company

We are over on Mutton Street, specifically at 196/197 Bapu Khote Cross Lane. It’s right across from the bazar, so it stays pretty hectic outside our doors almost all day long. Fazlehusein Asgarali & Company has been a fixture here for many years. We deal with all sorts of things, mostly hardware and old-school supplies. The building is older, with high ceilings and thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the summer heat. We have crates stacked up everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We don't really do the whole modern office thing. There’s a wooden desk where we sit and write out bills by hand. The smell of the market outside—spices and fresh food—drifts in sometimes. We know our regulars by name. They stop in to chat even when they don't need to buy anything. It’s a bit messy, with bits of string and wrapping paper on the floor, but we clean up every night before heading home. We just do our work and try to keep the stock levels right. Dealing with suppliers takes up a lot of our mornings. The afternoon is for the walk-in crowd from the bazar area. It’s a steady pace of life here. We don't rush much. We just make sure the job gets done and the customers leave with what they came for. Our doors are always open for those who know where to look.
