Favourite Book Cloth Paper Mart

You’ll find us at 12 Mirza Street, right in the heart of Parsi Galli. It’s an old part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow and full of history. We deal in book cloth and different types of paper for all kinds of projects. Our shop is filled with rolls of material and stacks of heavy paper that have a very specific smell to them. It’s that old paper and glue scent that you only find in places like this that have been around for years. We spend most of our time cutting down sheets or helping binders find the right shade of cloth for their projects. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, and we have to use a wooden ladder to get to the top ones. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep so much stock on hand for our regulars. Sometimes the floor is covered in offcuts and scraps, but we sweep up at the end of every day. We aren't a modern office with computers everywhere; it’s more about the physical materials we handle with our hands. People have been coming to Mirza Street for these kinds of supplies for a long time. We just keep the tradition going in our own small way. The light coming in from the front door is usually enough to see by until the late afternoon. It’s a quiet, steady kind of work that involves a lot of lifting and measuring. We like being in Parsi Galli.
