F. H. Khambati

You can find F. H. Khambati on the ground floor of the Tawawala Building at 139-(A) Lohar Chawl. This area is known for being a hub for all sorts of electrical and hardware goods, and we’ve been part of it for years. The shop is on the ground floor, so it's easy for people to just step in off the street. It’s not a massive space, and we have stuff stacked up pretty high to make use of the room. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We aren't into big marketing or shiny signs. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to Lohar Chawl for decades. It's a very traditional way of doing things here. We deal with the day-to-day business of selling goods and talking to suppliers. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a quick break, but otherwise, it's steady work from morning till evening. The building itself is quite old, which gives the place some character. We don't use a lot of fancy corporate talk. We just tell you what we have in stock and how much it costs. It’s an honest, simple approach.
