Exquisite Jewellery

We have a series of rooms from 615 to 624 in Parekh Market. It sounds like a big space, but it is really just a row of connected offices where we do our work. Exquisite Jewellery has been at 39, Kennedy Bridge for a good while. The building is one of those old Mumbai structures with lots of character and even more stairs to climb. We mostly focus on manufacturing and wholesale orders. There is usually a lot of noise from the polishing machines in the back rooms where the real work happens. We have several people sitting at benches working on intricate settings all day long. It is a bit dusty, but that is the nature of the jewelry business. We keep the front office a bit cleaner for when people drop by to see our samples. The windows look out towards Opera House, so we see the traffic jams every afternoon. We do not spend much money on decor. We would rather spend that on better tools or more materials for the shop. Our staff has been here for a long time, some for over twenty years now. We eat lunch together in the middle room most days. It is a bit like a second home for us. We do not do retail, so we do not have a big display window for the public. We just work through the orders as they come in. Sometimes we stay late when a big project is due.
