Expressit

We are over here in Shahunagar, Mahim, just tucked away in building E 8 22. It’s a busy spot in Mumbai and the noise from the street never really stops, but that is just how it is around here. Expressit has been running out of this space for a while now. Most days it is just us handling stacks of papers and coordinating where things need to go. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It is just a workspace where the fans are usually clicking and someone is always on the phone trying to track down a delivery. People around Mahim know where we are if they need to drop something off. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult, especially during the monsoon months when the roads get blocked up, but we just keep moving. It is not always perfect and sometimes we get a bit behind when the traffic is particularly bad near the station. We just try to get the work done and go home. There are about four of us in the main room usually. We drink a lot of tea from the stall downstairs. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep up with the pace of Mumbai. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the last few years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but it’s what we do.
