Kurla West is one of those places in Mumbai that never really stops moving. Our office is at 403 Hasan CHS, right on S.G. Barve Marg. If you know the area, you know how loud and busy that road can get with all the traffic heading towards the station. We’re up on the fourth floor, so it’s a bit quieter than the street, but you can still hear the city hum. We deal with property and development stuff, which means there are always people dropping by with questions about buildings or paperwork. The office is pretty small and usually filled with the smell of coffee and old paper. We have some maps of the local plots pinned to the walls. It’s a practical space, meant for sitting down and figuring out the details of a project. We don’t have a big fancy lobby with a fountain. It’s just a room with some desks and a few chairs for guests. Working in Kurla means you have to be quick and ready for anything. We spend a lot of time navigating the local rules and talking to the folks who live in the neighborhood. It’s a tough part of town to work in, but we’ve been at this Hasan building long enough to feel at home. Most days are spent chasing signatures or checking on some site down the road. It’s just the way things work here.
