We are based over in Vile Parle East at Shirin Sohrab Palace. It is an older building on Nariman Road. Most people know the area because it is pretty busy all the time. Our office is C-509. We do logistics work, which mostly means we help move stuff around, often dealing with connections over in the UAE since that is where the main group is from. It is a lot of emails and phone calls back and forth. Mumbai is a hectic place to do business, especially with the traffic and the noise outside, but we manage to get things done from this little spot. We aren't some giant warehouse ourselves; we just handle the coordination part of the shipping business. The office has been here for a while and it feels like home to most of us who work here every day. We drink a lot of tea and try to keep track of all the different shipments coming in and going out. It is a lot of logistics jargon, but we try to keep it simple when talking to people. There are always piles of documents on the desks and the printer is usually running. It is just a regular job for us, making sure things get to where they are supposed to go without too much trouble. We don't try to make it sound more complicated than it is. Most of the time, it is just about staying organized and answering the phone when it rings.
