Essar Constructions (India) Limited

Our office is over in Santa Cruz West, specifically at 11/11 in Saraswat Colony. It’s an older part of Mumbai, so it has a lot of character and it’s usually pretty cramped with cars and people. We’ve been at this spot for Essar Constructions (India) Limited for a long time. It feels more like a home than a stiff office building, which is how we like it. The walls are covered with old photos of projects and some maps of the city that have seen better days. Working in Mumbai means you’re always dealing with the weather and the noise, but you get used to it. We aren't a big, cold corporation. We’re a team of people who know each other well. We handle the local construction needs and try to stay on top of the regulations, which change all the time. Our desks are usually a mess of blueprints and empty tea cups. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; you just walk in and talk to whoever is available. We don't go for the big marketing talk because the work we do speaks for itself when people see the buildings. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, especially when multiple projects are happening at once, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Santa Cruz is a great place to be based, and we’re proud to be part of the community here.
