Our place is on the ground floor of the Kamdhenu Building, right there in Popat Vadi. If you know Kalbadevi Road, you know it’s always packed with people and carts moving around. We’ve been based at number 23 for quite some time now. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes with all the stock we keep, but we make it work. Usually, there’s a few of us here from morning until evening. We handle a lot of electrical stuff, mostly parts and gear that people in the trade need. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a fancy reception desk. Instead, you’ll probably see boxes stacked up and someone checking a list or talking on the phone. Kalbadevi has its own rhythm, and we’re just a small part of that. We get a lot of regulars who drop in because they know where we are and that we’ve been here. The building itself is old, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders. We’re more focused on getting the right parts to the people who ask for them. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a five-minute break, then it’s back to the paperwork or the inventory. It’s a simple setup. We know the streets around here like the back of our hand and we’re just glad to be working in this neighborhood every day. It keeps us on our toes for sure.
