Elastonomers

Our office is at 201, Kesham Kalyani Sadan. It’s on the second floor on V. P. Road, right near the Sanyas Ashram in Vile-Parle West. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how busy it gets. The sounds of the trains and the traffic are always there in the background. We have a small space that we’ve shared for a long time. It’s filled with samples of materials and stacks of folders that probably need filing. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow, so we don't like carrying big boxes up there if we can help it. We start our day when the shops downstairs open up. We usually have a quick chat with the other people in the building before we get to work. Elastonomers isn't a huge name, just a local business trying to keep things going. We don't have a fancy lunchroom, so we usually just eat at our desks or go out to one of the small places nearby. Vile-Parle is a good area, but it's expensive and crowded. We try to keep our overhead low so we don't have to worry too much about the rent. Sometimes the ceiling leaks a little when the monsoon is really heavy, but we just put a bucket out and keep working. It’s just the way things are here. We don't have a big HR department or anything like that. We just handle our own business.
