Dyes Kurls

Shop No 2 is where we are located, right in the middle of Goregaon West. It’s a small space, and you can pretty much see everything from the front door. We try to keep the chairs lined up and the mirrors clean, though the steam from the hot water makes them foggy pretty quickly in the mornings. The street outside is always loud with rickshaws and people heading toward the station. We’ve been at Dyes Kurls for a bit now. It’s mostly just local people from the neighborhood coming in. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, whoever is free just picks it up. Usually, there’s a smell of hair products and maybe some coffee in the air. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the work. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit on the front steps and wait for the grid to come back. It’s a neighborhood spot. Nothing fancy like those salons you see in the malls. We just do the work and go home. The floor gets covered in hair by noon, and we sweep it up every hour or so. It's a constant cycle. If you walk past the bakery, we are just a few doors down. It’s easy to miss if you aren't really looking for the sign. We like it that way, quiet enough to get things done.
