Our office for Dtdc Courier & Cargo Ltd. is in Room No. 2 of Laxmi Nivas, Chawl No. 1. We are in the Sudamnagar area of Kajupada, which is in Borivali East, Mumbai. It’s a typical Mumbai neighborhood where space is tight and everyone knows each other’s business. We operate out of this small room in the chawl, and it’s always packed with parcels and envelopes waiting to be sorted. Being in Sudamnagar means we are right in the heart of the community. Every morning, the delivery boys gather around the entrance to pick up their bags. It’s a bit of a chaotic scene with bikes parked everywhere and people shouting out addresses. Inside the office, it’s just a couple of desks and some heavy-duty shelving. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that spin fast to keep the air moving during the humid months. When the monsoon hits, we have to be extra careful to keep everything dry because the rain really pours down in Borivali. We’ve been here for quite a while, and the neighbors are used to the constant coming and going of the cargo. It’s a humble setup, but it’s where all the work happens. We focus on getting the bags out on time and making sure the paperwork matches up with the boxes. It’s just a normal day-to-day grind in a busy part of the city.
