Running this DTDC spot in Siddhi Nagar takes up most of our time. It’s right here in Chakala, Andheri East, so things get pretty busy with all the traffic and noise right outside the door. Most days start early, usually with someone already waiting on the pavement with a cardboard box that needs to go somewhere far away like Delhi. We spend a lot of time taped up to our elbows, making sure the brown tape holds and scanning everything into the system so it doesn't just disappear. The office isn't anything fancy to look at, just a couple of desks, some heavy scales, and piles of parcels waiting for the big truck. Sometimes the Mumbai rain makes things really slow and messy, but we keep moving regardless. Folks from Tarun Bharat Soc drop by often, sometimes just to ask about rates or how long a letter takes to reach a village. It gets loud with the ceiling fans whirring and the motorbikes zooming past, but that's just the rhythm of this part of Mumbai. We handle a lot of heavy cargo too, and it takes some real muscle to shift those big wooden crates around the floor. We aren't big on talking much, we just get the weighing done and hand over the receipt. It’s a job that keeps us on our feet all day long.
