Divya-Tara Corporation is up on the first floor of the Tavawala Building, which is number 18 on Street 147 in Lohar Chawl. If you know Lohar Chawl, you know it is one of the busiest markets you can find. There are wires and lights everywhere you look in this area. To get to us, you have to climb a narrow set of stairs that have been there for decades. It is a bit of a climb, but we are used to it by now. The office is always full of activity and the sound of the market flows up from the street below. We have samples of things we sell sitting on every available surface. It is not a showroom like you see in malls. It is a working office where we take orders and talk to suppliers. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing out lists. The building is old and has a lot of character, even if the paint is peeling in some corners. We share the floor with a few other businesses, so there are always people coming and going. It can get a bit frantic during the peak hours of the market. We take our tea when we can and keep moving. We don't do anything fancy. We just stay here in our corner of Lohar Chawl and get the work done. It’s been our routine for a long time.
