Dipti Wire Products

Our place is at 24 Sabusiddik Road, inside BMC Building No. 4. It’s right there in Masjid Bunder, not far from the Carnac Bridge. If you’ve ever been to this area, you know how crowded it gets with all the handcarts and trucks trying to move through the narrow lanes. Dipti Wire Products is a small operation. We handle all sorts of wire stuff. The walls of the workshop are covered in tools and coils of different gauges. It’s not a clean place; there’s always bits of metal or dust on the floor. We don't have a showroom. People just come to the door and ask for what they need. Being near the bridge means it’s always loud outside. We’ve got used to the sound of the trains and the traffic. The building itself is one of those old BMC properties that has seen better days, but it serves our purpose. We don't have a website or a social media person. We just have a landline that rings all day and a ledger where we write things down. It’s just us and the wires. Most of the people working here have been with us for years, so we don't really have to say much to get the work done. It’s a simple, gritty life in the heart of the trade district. We close up around seven, after we’ve swept the floor and made sure the gate is locked tight. It’s just a normal job.
