Working at Dhiraj Cam Manufacturing Pvt Ltd means being right in the middle of Mazgaon. We are located at 2/49, Bpt Quarters, in the Parvin Nagar area on K.R. Mahatre Road. Mumbai is always loud and fast, and our shop is no different. We spend most of our hours making cams and parts that people need for their machines. It is greasy work and my hands are usually covered in oil by noon. The building isn't brand new, but it works for what we do. There are about ten of us here most days. We have been in this spot for a long time, so we know all the neighbors around the Bpt Quarters. It gets really hot in the summer, especially with the machines running all day long. We just open the windows and keep going. Getting supplies delivered can be a bit of a headache because the roads are so narrow around here, but we manage. We aren't some big corporate office with suits and ties. It’s just us in our work shirts getting things done. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out. That’s just how it is in manufacturing. People know where to find us if they need something specific made. We just focus on the work and try to get every part right before it leaves the door. It is a long day but it is what we know how to do.
