S. B. Enterprises

Our spot is on the ground floor at Gnm/B-58/1/1 in Kalyan Wadi. It is right on the Dharavi Main Road, so it is never quiet. There is a constant stream of people walking past the door from morning until late at night. The space is not very big, but we have made use of every inch of it. We have some shelves along the walls to keep our tools and materials organized. Being on the ground floor means a lot of dust comes in, so we have to wipe down the desks every single morning before we start. The fan hums quite loudly, but it helps with the heat. We usually have the door open to get some air. People often stop by just to ask for directions or to see what we are doing. It is a very busy neighborhood, and everyone is working hard. We have our routine of checking the stock and writing down what needs to be ordered for the next day. Sometimes the power goes off for a bit, and we just sit outside on the step until it comes back. It is a simple way of living and working. We don't have much room for extras, so everything in the shop has a purpose. We just get on with our jobs and try to stay out of the way of the heavy main road traffic.
