R. S. Bags

R. S. Bags is located on the ground floor over in Gopinath Colony. We are at A-103, right on K.K. Krishnanmenon Marg in Dharavi. It’s a lively neighborhood and there is always something going on outside the door. Our space is filled with different materials and the sound of work. We’ve been here in this part of Mumbai for quite some time now. People know us as the bag place near the corner. It can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock coming in, but we manage to find a spot for everything. The street is usually crowded, especially in the afternoons. We see a lot of the same people walking by every day. It’s not a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a small place where we get our work done. Sometimes the heat gets to be a bit much, so we keep the fans going all day. We handle a lot of different bags, and you can usually see them stacked up near the entrance. The floor is concrete and showing its age, but it works for us. Living and working in Dharavi means you get used to the pace of things. We just open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s a practical setup. We don't spend much time on decorations; we just focus on the bags and making sure the orders are ready.
