We are tucked away in the T.V. Industrial Estate on Worli Road, right behind where the Glaxo building is. Our unit is G-24. It is an old-school industrial area, so there is a lot of history in the walls here. Being in the 022 area code means we are right in the middle of everything in Mumbai. We handle impex work, which basically means a lot of paperwork, checking crates, and keeping track of shipments. The office isn't very big, and we have boxes stacked up in most of the corners. It is a bit cramped, but it is where we do all our business. The traffic on Worli Road is something we have to deal with every single day, especially when we are waiting for deliveries. We have been here for quite a while, so we know all the other folks in the estate. We do not use any fancy systems, just our ledgers and some computers that have seen better days. It is a practical place for practical people. When the monsoons hit, we have to be careful about the damp, but we manage just fine. We do not spend money on fancy decorations; we would rather just get the work done. It is honest work, and it keeps the lights on. Most of us have been working in this estate for years, so it feels like home now, even with the noise and the crowded shelves.
