Dench Exim Llp is our small export and import business based in Malad West. We’re in the Om Ashish building, Room A 102, right on Cross Road Number 4 near Liberty Garden. It’s a busy neighborhood, and we’re right opposite Ayojan Nagar. The office is basically a small apartment that we’ve set up for work. It’s nothing like those glass skyscrapers you see downtown. We spend our time coordinating shipments and dealing with customs brokers. It’s a lot of paperwork, to be honest. Sometimes the tea lady comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We’ve been in Malad for a while now and we like the vibe of the area. It’s convenient because everything you need is within walking distance. Most of the time, the office is just filled with the sound of keyboards and the occasional phone call to a shipping port. We don't have any fancy titles or corporate protocols; we just get the work done. If a shipment is delayed, we stay until it’s sorted. It’s just the way it goes in this industry. We are just a few people trying to keep the business running smoothly from our little corner of Mumbai. There is usually a stack of bills of lading on the desk and someone checking the container status.
