Deluxe Battery Service

Down here in Jogeshwari West, Deluxe Battery Service is basically a place filled with heavy boxes and the smell of grease. It isn't a clean office with air conditioning, but we have enough tools to get the job done when someone’s car won't start in the rainy season. Most of the day is spent checking voltages or cleaning up terminal corrosion for people who bring their old batteries in. We see a lot of bikes and rickshaws stopping by because the traffic around here is hard on engines. The workbench is usually a mess of wires and testers, but we know where everything is. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped when we have five or six big truck batteries sitting on the floor waiting for a charge. We don't spend much time on the computer or writing emails because our hands are usually too dirty for that. It is just about making sure the lights stay on for our neighbors when the power goes out and their inverters fail. Being in Jogeshwari means there is always noise outside, but we just focus on the task at hand. If a battery is dead, we tell you it is dead. If it can be saved, we try to save it. That is how we have always worked here. It is simple work, really, but it keeps the neighborhood moving. The shop has its quirks, but the batteries keep charging.
