We are over in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, at Sagar Residency. Our office is C-701, and if you come up here, you’ll see it’s mostly filled with rolls of drawings, samples of stone, and a few computers for the drafting work. Della Architects isn't a huge firm, so it’s just a few of us working closely together. We spend a lot of time arguing over where a wall should go or what kind of window frame would look right. It’s a lot of back and forth with clients and contractors. Sometimes we are out on a dusty construction site in the sun, and other times we are stuck here in the office until late trying to finish a plan for a deadline. Navi Mumbai is a bit calmer than the main city, which we appreciate. The view from Sector 27 is alright, and it’s a good spot to sit and think about designs. We don't really do the fancy corporate talk. We just show people what we’ve drawn and explain why we think it works for the space. It’s more about the practical side of building things than anything else. We’ve got a lot of half-finished coffee cups and sketches lying around most of the time. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how we work best. We just keep at it, one project at a time, making sure things are built properly.
