Deep Plastics

Our workshop is located in the Manish Industrial Area at Navghar in Vasai East. We are at unit number 107 in the third block. It is a typical industrial neighborhood where you can hear the sounds of work coming from every building. We focus on making plastic products using several injection molding machines. These machines run for most of the day, and the noise is something you eventually stop noticing. It is quite loud, so we usually have to raise our voices to talk to each other. The floor often has little plastic pellets scattered around before we have a chance to sweep them up at the end of the shift. We produce things like containers and various small parts for other businesses. It involves a lot of manual work, like checking each item as it comes out of the mold to make sure it looks okay. Thane gets very hot and humid, so the factory can feel pretty stuffy in the summer months. We have some large fans, but they mostly just move the warm air around the room. We usually eat our lunch together in the middle of the day. Most of the people working here have been with us since the beginning. We don't have any corporate layers or fancy titles. It is just us and the machines. We handle the orders as they come in and sometimes work late to get things finished. We don't have a showroom, so people just come to the floor.
