Our workshop is over in Goregaon East, specifically in Shed L of the Sainath Industrial Estate, Building Number 1, on Aarey Road. It’s a busy industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machinery and trucks idling outside. We spend our days working on different types of moulds. The floor is usually covered in some dust or scraps from the work, but that’s just how a machine shop is. It’s not a place for sitting around in suits. We have a few heavy machines that take up most of the room. I started Deelu Moulds with just one lathe and slowly added more as we got more work. My brother-in-law handles the accounts while I stay on the floor making sure the moulds are coming out right. The commute through Aarey Road can be a bit of a mess with the traffic, but being in this estate is convenient for getting materials. We don't have a fancy reception area; if you come to visit, you'll probably find us in our overalls. We just take the orders as they come and try to get them finished on time. It gets pretty hot in the shed during the summer, so we have a couple of big fans going all day. It’s basic, honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for years. We don't do much marketing, just some flyers now and then. The grease on our hands is part of the job. We finish up around seven most evenings.
