Dawakhana & Unani Stores

Our shop is number 28 on the ground floor of the Shre building in Borivali East. You can see our sign if you are standing over by the Sanjog Hotel, as we are located just across the way from it. Dawakhana & Unani Stores has been in this spot for a long time, and we mostly deal with traditional Unani medicines. It is a small place, but it is packed from floor to ceiling with jars, boxes, and bottles of all kinds of things. People usually come in looking for something specific their parents or grandparents used to use, or they just want a more natural way to feel better. We spend a lot of our day talking to the customers about what is currently on the shelves. It is not at all like a big modern pharmacy where everything is hidden in plastic boxes. It smells a lot like dried herbs and old recipes when you walk inside. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find the right drawer for an order, but we know where everything is tucked away eventually. We get a lot of regulars from around the Borivali neighborhood who stop in for their usual items. It is usually pretty quiet in the mornings, then it picks up quite a bit in the evening hours. We do not do much advertising, it is mostly just local people telling their neighbors about us. It is a simple life running a shop like this, keeping the shelves stocked and helping folks.
