We are located in the Mangaldas Building, specifically at 349-A on Kitchen Garden Lane. It’s a very narrow lane, and it can get quite cramped with all the people and carts moving through during the day. Our agency deals with a lot of different books and publications. The office is basically wall-to-wall shelves and stacks of paper everywhere you look. Sometimes it feels like the books are taking over the entire space, but we have a system for finding what people need. We spend most of our time answering queries and packing up orders for various shops and individuals who call us. It’s a quiet kind of work, though the noise from the lane outside always drifts in through the windows. We’ve been in this building for many years, and the walls are covered with old calendars and notes we've tacked up. We don't really have a fancy storefront; people usually know us and just come directly to the office upstairs. Managing the inventory is the hardest part because there are always new titles coming out and old ones going out of print. We try to keep track of it all in our ledgers and on the computer. It’s a lot of physical work too, lifting heavy boxes of books and moving them around the room. But if you like the smell of paper and ink, it’s a good place to be.
