Dass Electric Trading Co. is on the first floor of Poddar Mansion. We are at No. 9 Vanka Mohalla, which is in Kolbhat Lane. If you know Chira Bazar, you are very close to us. The area is quite old and the lanes can be narrow and crowded. It’s a very traditional market feel around here. We’ve been in Poddar Mansion for quite a while now. Our space is filled with all sorts of electrical trading items. It’s not very organized to an outsider, but we know exactly where every wire and switch is located. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free. Most of our days are spent dealing with local contractors and people from the neighborhood. Chira Bazar is always loud, but up on the first floor, it’s a little bit better. We have a lot of history in this building. The walls are thick and the wooden floors creak sometimes. We just focus on buying and selling electrical goods. We don’t bother with fancy displays or big signs. People know we are here because we’ve been here for years. It’s a simple trading business. We show up, drink some chai, and get through the day’s trade. That's how we’ve always done it in Kolbhat Lane. It works for us and the customers seem happy enough with things.
