Our shop is G-72 inside the Dadar Manish Market on S.B. Marg. If you've ever been to Dadar, you know how crowded and fast-paced it is. The market is always buzzing with people looking for a bargain. We are tucked away in one of the ground floor lanes. Our space is filled with all kinds of merchandise, mostly packed into boxes that reach up to the ceiling. We do a lot of wholesale and general trading, so we are constantly moving stock in and out. It’s a tight squeeze sometimes, especially when a delivery arrives at the same time customers are trying to get in. We know all the other shopkeepers around us, and there is a lot of shouting back and forth throughout the day. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just know where we are. We rely on the foot traffic from the street and the regulars who have been coming to Manish Market for years. The air is always thick with the smell of the city and the snacks from the nearby stalls. We start early in the morning before the crowds get too thick and usually stay until the shutters start coming down all along S.B. Marg. It's a hectic way to make a living, but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves in a quiet office. Every day brings a different set of customers and boxes.
