R.k. Enterprises

R.k. Enterprises is located on Bhavani Sankar Road in Dadar West. If you live in Mumbai, you already know how crowded and hectic this area gets. Our shop, which is number 11 in the building, is a very small spot but we have a lot of items packed into every corner. We are right opposite Bhavani Plaza, which helps people find us. It is a struggle sometimes with the heavy traffic and all the people pushing past on the sidewalk. During the monsoon months, we spend half our time making sure the rainwater does not seep into the stock. The space is very tight, and we have wooden shelves going all the way up to the high ceiling. We have to use a shaky old ladder to get things down for customers. It is just how it is in a place like Dadar. We have been here for many years, and the neighbors in the other shops are all like family now. We open up early and stay quite late most days. There is not much room for a desk, so we usually do our daily accounts on a small corner table. We handle whatever comes our way, from small walk-in customers to bigger deliveries that we have to haul through the narrow lanes. It is a lot of physical work, especially when the weather is very humid. We just keep going and get things done.
