D J Rebello & Co is based at 6 Makkan Road, right near Chembur Naka in Martello Boulevard. We’re directly opposite R S P House, which makes it easier for people to find us when they’re driving around. The office is a straightforward space. We don’t have any modern art on the walls or designer chairs. It’s just functional furniture and the equipment we need to do our jobs. We’ve been at this spot for some time now, and we’ve become part of the daily scenery on Makkan Road. The traffic outside can be quite something during rush hour, but once you’re inside, it’s mostly just the sound of typing and people talking on the phone. We don’t have a big mission statement or any of that stuff. We just come in, handle the tasks we have for the day, and go home to our families. Some of us have been working together for years, so we know each other’s habits pretty well. It’s a very human atmosphere, with all the usual ups and downs you’d expect in a small office. We don’t try to sound more important than we are. We’re just a local business trying to stay on top of our work and keep a steady place for our staff. It can get a little messy with all the paperwork, but we know where everything is and it all gets sorted eventually.
