D C Component

Our shop, D C Component, is right in the thick of it on Lamington Road. Specifically, we are on the first floor of Pushpa Dant Niwas on Chunam Lane. If you know this area, you know how busy it gets with everyone looking for parts and electronics. Our space is small and packed to the ceiling with bins and boxes. We don't have room for a fancy lounge or decorations. Every bit of shelf space is used for components. We spend the day pulling orders and checking stock levels. It’s loud outside with the traffic and the people on the street, but we’re used to the noise by now. Sometimes we have to climb up ladders to reach the old stock at the very top. It's a bit of a workout. We don't bother with corporate talk here. We just tell you if we have the part or if we can get it. Most of the people working here have been around for years and can tell you what a part is just by looking at it. Lamington Road has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of that. We eat our lunch quickly and get back to the orders. It’s a practical way to run a business. We focus on the inventory and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the day. It isn't glamorous, but it’s real work. The rain makes the street muddy, but the customers still come through the door.
