Crystal Impex

If you have ever been to Lamington Road, you know how crowded it gets at all hours. We are tucked away in the Ganga Building, specifically on the second floor. Tara Temple Lane is one of those narrow spots where you really have to watch your step because there’s always someone moving a crate or a cart right past you. We have been operating Crystal Impex from this room for quite some time now. It is not a huge place, just a couple of rooms filled with whatever we are importing or selling that month. The light isn't great in the hallway, but once you step inside our office, it is bright enough to see what you’re doing. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking lists of what came in and what needs to go out to customers. The building itself is old, so the walls have some marks and the floors are a bit worn down from all the foot traffic over the years. We share the floor with a few other businesses, and we all kind of know each other. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall downstairs and talk about how the market is doing lately. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes and making sure the labels are right. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there behind a desk or moving things around. It’s just how things work here. (254 words)
