Kalptaru Cable Industries

We are based in the Shetal Supreme Industrial Complex, specifically Unit 42. It’s out in the Sativali area of Vasai. It’s a bit of a trek to get here because the roads are often under repair. We are near the Dhuri Industrial Complex Number 2, which is a big landmark around here. Our unit is full of heavy spools of wire and different types of cabling. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the copper and plastic insulation piled up. The machines we use for stripping and winding are quite old but they still work fine. It gets very hot in Vasai during the summer, and the metal roof of the warehouse doesn't help much. We spend most of our time checking the thickness of wires and making sure the rolls are neat. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. We wear heavy boots and old clothes because things get dirty fast. There’s a lot of dust from the road that comes inside through the vents. We’ve been part of this industrial community for some time now. We know the other guys in the complex and we sometimes share tools or help each other out with loading. It’s a simple life of manufacturing. No big speeches or corporate talk here. We just make the cables and hope the power stays on. It's just honest manual work.
