We’ve been running things out of this basement shop in Vijay Chambers for a good while now. If you know the area near Dreamland Cinema on Tribhuvan Road, you know it gets pretty packed with people and traffic most days. Our space, Shop No. 9, isn't very large, and it can get a bit stuffy down here when the afternoon heat kicks in, but it serves us well enough for what we do. We mostly deal with all sorts of connector devices. The shelves are usually piled high with boxes, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for in the back. It’s not a fancy showroom by any stretch. There’s a desk that’s seen better days and a couple of stools for when things aren't too busy. Most of our day is spent answering the phone or helping people who wander in from the street looking for a specific part they can't find elsewhere. The lights flicker a bit sometimes, and you can hear the muffled sounds of the city through the walls. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that; it’s just a few of us making sure the orders get filled and the stock stays somewhat organized. It’s honest work, and being right here in the middle of the bustle keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the tea stall guy brings over a few cups and we take a short break before getting back to the inventory lists.
