Colour Crates

You can find us over at Kemps Corner, specifically in Shop Number 5 on the ground floor of Swarup Building. The location is pretty easy to spot because we are in the lane right next to Millionaire and directly opposite The Shalimar Hotel. Kemps Corner is a busy junction in South Mumbai, so there is always a lot of traffic and people moving around. Our shop isn't very big, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. It has that typical old Mumbai shop feel, with a heavy shutter and a small step up from the pavement. We keep a lot of supplies and materials around, so the space often feels a bit cramped, but in a cozy way. People walking to the hotel or shopping nearby often stop by to look at what we are doing. The walls have bits of tape and marks from where we have pinned things up over the months. It is not a polished gallery or a high-end boutique. It is just a working space where things get made and projects get finished. The light from the street comes in through the front window, and we usually have some music playing quietly in the background to drown out the car horns from the main road. On rainy days, the lane gets a bit damp, but inside it stays dry and busy. It is a nice little corner of the city to be in every day.
