You can find us at 164 Sassoon Dock in Colaba. If you have ever been down to the docks very early in the morning, you know exactly what it is like there. The smell of the salt water and the fresh fish is everywhere. We are right in the thick of all that chaos. Our space is functional and mostly built for handling the catch that comes in from the boats. It is wet, it is loud, and there is always someone shouting about a crate or a truck blocking the way. We have been operating out of Sassoon Dock for a long time. The building at 164 is old and has seen a lot of history pass through its doors. We don't have any fancy carpets or air-conditioned offices to sit in. Instead, we have heavy rubber boots, waterproof aprons, and lots of crushed ice. Every morning is a bit of a race against the rising sun to get everything sorted and moved out to the different markets. Colaba is a very busy part of Mumbai, but the docks are like a completely different world of their own. Sometimes the tide is high and the water comes right up to the edge of the stone, and other times the mud is thick and messy. We deal with all kinds of seafood, mostly just whatever the local boats bring in that day. It is hard work and your back usually hurts.
