If you’ve ever walked down Narayan Dhuru Street, you know how packed it is with hardware shops and people moving boxes. CHINTAMANI ENTERPRISES is tucked away on the third floor of number 116, in Room No. 29. It’s a bit of a hike up the stairs, especially on a hot day, and the building has that old, worn-in feel that most places in this area have. Our room is filled with shelves that are overflowing with small parts, tools, and industrial supplies. We don’t have much room for anything else, so the desks are small and the aisles are even smaller. We spend a lot of time counting out pieces or looking through old ledgers to see what’s in stock. It’s not a high-tech operation; we use a lot of handwritten notes and spend plenty of time talking to regular visitors who have been coming to this street for years. The noise from the street never really stops, so we just work through it. Sometimes we have to move three boxes just to get to the one we actually need, which is just part of life in a small space on the third floor. We aren't worried about looking like a big corporation; we’re just a small outfit in a crowded building trying to keep everything organized. By the time we lock up Room 29 in the evening, we’re usually ready for the quiet.
