Working out of the 14th floor in Maker Chamber -5 has its ups and downs. The view of the water is actually quite nice when you get a second to look out the window between phone calls. Nariman Point is always rushing, everyone is in a suit or running to catch a bus near the station. We deal with plastics mostly. It’s not the most exciting thing to talk about at dinner, but it keeps the lights on and keeps us busy. The office is usually full of files and people talking loudly on the phone. Sometimes the elevators take forever, which is a real pain when you're running late for a morning meeting. We’ve been at this address on Jamnalal Bajaj Marg for a while now. It’s a busy spot, especially around lunchtime when everyone comes out to eat at the stalls. We just do our work, handle the orders, and try to keep up with the endless paperwork. It’s a corporate building, but our actual office feels a bit more lived-in and messy. There’s always someone making noise near the water cooler or looking for a stapler. We don’t really have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just rows of desks and computers and a lot of talking about shipments and schedules. We get things done and then head home. It’s a job like any other, just much higher up in the air than most.
