Kalee Exports

You can find us at No. 241/243 in the Maharaja Building. We are up on the 2nd floor in Office No. 20. It’s right across from Girgaum Church on Charni Road. The stairs are a bit steep, so we usually take our time coming up in the morning. Kalee Exports isn't a massive operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few of us in a room filled with samples and shipping documents. The view of the church is nice, especially when the bells ring. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing out emails to people in different time zones. The office is often a mess of bubble wrap and cardboard boxes waiting to be taped up. We don't have expensive furniture or a lobby with a receptionist. You just walk in and we're right there at our desks. Charni Road is always humming with activity, which keeps things interesting. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish up the paperwork for a container. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The wooden floors creak when you walk over the soft spots. We’ve got a small kettle in the corner for making tea throughout the afternoon. It’s a practical space for practical work. We just focus on getting the goods from here to wherever they need to go. It’s a lot of logistical work but we have a system that works for us.
