Chandrakant Motar

Chandrakant Motar is situated in Kalbadevi, right in Building Number 384 over at Dhabkholkar Wadi. It’s one of those old buildings where the stairs are narrow and everyone knows their neighbor. We’ve been working with motors and electrical parts here for a long time. The shop is filled with parts, wires, and the smell of grease and old metal. It’s not the cleanest place, but we know where everything is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. My father started things here and I just kept it going. We spend most of our time at the workbench with a few tools and a lot of patience. Sometimes a repair takes longer than we thought, or a part is hard to find, but we usually figure it out eventually. Kalbadevi is a crowded area, so there’s always noise coming in from the street while we work. We don't really do any advertising. People just know to come to Dhabkholkar Wadi when they have a motor that isn't turning right. We just sit here, drink our tea, and get through the pile of work on the desk. It’s a quiet life in a noisy neighborhood. We don't have fancy uniforms or a front desk. It is just the workshop and us. That is the story of Chandrakant Motar, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes in.
